7 Reasons to Love Your Selfie Stick

7 Reasons to Love Your Selfie Stick

The Selfie. Love it or hate it, everyone you know is taking them. I can even admit to it myself! Ever since social media has been around, people for some reason have been obsessed with taking pictures of themselves. I remember getting my first camera (and yes, it was a film camera) and trying to take selfie’s in my bedroom at the age of 10. Since it wasn’t a digital camera I was using, some of them turned out to be pretty hilarious. Enter the Selfie Stick (yes we do sell them!).

FOR PULSE - SELFIE STICK - HANDOUT

Although there are a ton of amusement parks and music festivals that have banned the use of these tools, it is still really hard to not walk around and see someone using them. Whoever invented this was a genius. Gone are the days of MySpace bathroom selfie’s and awkward Facebook profile pictures where you can see your arm taking up half the picture where your face should be. So, why do I love my Selfie Stick?

1.     Who wouldn’t love not having to take awkward pictures anymore?!

Admit it… You have taken the “awkward MySpace” selfie before, and you have had to take it over again several times to try and make yourself look normal. NOT ANYMORE! This stick will solve literally all of your selfie taking problems. Whether you need a picture of a big group or just you, this will save you SO much time!

2.     Easy Setup

When I go to big group events where we need pictures taken it is really easy to just pull the stick out of my purse and go to town taking pictures. I don’t have to worry about people not fitting into the shot, asking random strangers downtown to take a picture with my cell phone (and hope they don’t run off with it), and the Bluetooth remote connects directly to my phone so I don’t have to worry about having to reach up  and hit the capture button and race to put my arm back down before the shutter goes off.

3.     Ellen uses one.

Remember this picture that practically broke the internet?

This image released by Ellen DeGeneres shows actors, front row from left, Jared Leto, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Ellen DeGeneres, Bradley Cooper, Peter Nyong’o Jr. and, second row, from left, Channing Tatum, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong’o and Angelina Jolie as they pose for a "selfie" portrait on a cell phone during the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Los Angeles. If Ellen can take cool group selfie, now so can you!

4.     Ok. Ellen doesn’t  use a selfie stick for her selfie’s yet, but Betty White does!

I think this is reason enough to get one right here.

5.     No need to use the timer on your camera!

No need for that difficult to use timer setting on your phone! The easy to use remote makes your pictures look natural without you having to race to get your arm back into place without it blocking the picture. The remote works for both Android and iPhones, so no matter what phone you have it is easy to turn on and use.

6.     They are used so often, branded sticks are great advertising!

Think about it. You go to an outdoor event or fundraiser and provide maybe just a few tables or hand everyone selfie sticks. Now, for the entire event people will be walking around taking pictures with a stick with YOUR logo on it! It’s continual free advertising! They will be able to use it on vacation with their kids, at most concerts, at family events, etc.
